Ø Manager or hostess should give a warm welcome to the guests
Ø If the manager happens to be away, any service personnel nearby must undertake the responsibility
Ø The hostess should request for the number of guests in the party, and if the party has a reservation
Ø The hostess should than lead the party to the designated table with the exact number of menus and seat them with the sequence of ladies first and the host last
Ø The guests should be assisted with the chairs
Ø The hostess/server should do the menu presentation at this point and all the specials should be explained
Ø The hostess/server should depart the table with a greeting. Example ”Have a pleasant dinner”
Ø The server should approach the table after a while with a warm and friendly greeting; Example: ”Good evening, welcome to our restaurant, may I offer u a drink from the bar?”
